Decode_M Into the Metaverse: Our Newest Office

Decode_M just opened its newest office — in the Metaverse! We are located in Decentraland.

FYI: Decentraland is the leading Metaverse platform. It’s user-owned and based on the Ethereum blockchain (the leading blockchain ecosystem).

Our office is in an up-and-coming downtown that is near other globally known brands (Samsung, Sotheby’s, Atari, & Vodafone) and next to the music and entertainment capital of the Metaverse!  🎉

WTF is the Metaverse? Why should you care?
You’ve probably heard “Metaverse” a lot lately without much context on what it actually means  or how it works? Or why is it an important location for our new office?

For us and many of our clients, the Metaverse is the next frontier for digital marketplaces and communities. When you boil it down — before anything about virtual reality or Web3 or blockchain — the Metaverse represents a recognition that virtual identities can be as important and “real” as… well, real ones. We believe in that!

Why the metaverse for Decode_M?
It’s a place where we can build our most inclusive community. Our team members can work together while working remotely, and it is an open world where anyone (clients, team members, friends, family, prospects, etc) can drop in to see what projects we’re working on, what we care about, and What’s Up / What’s Down / What’s Next!

Of course, we love our physical offices. This represents a virtual location for everyone!

WHAT’S UP ⬆️:
Momentum for the Metaverse is on the rise (Mfactor as high as 40! in 2022). Here are some other companies that are creating Metaverse spaces.

  • Gucci: The luxury brand is one of many that has created Metaverse spaces with the gaming platform Roblox. The result, “Gucci Town,” is a digital experience that allows people to traverse themed rooms, play minigames, and collect limited edition virtual goods. Last year, a Gucci handbag sold for more on Roblox than it costs in real life; this week, Miley Cyrus joined Gucci Town as an interactive avatar to promote the brand’s new fragrance.

  • Crocs: The footwear brand joined forces with rapper Saweetie to create an “immersive virtual shopping experience” promoting their Jibbitz Charms product line. A digital avatar of Saweetie welcomes customers into an interactive 3D virtual store, where fans can enter a live draw for limited-edition Saweetie X Crocs bundles. According to Crocs, the result: super-high engagement rates across its social media platforms, shattering benchmarks.

WHAT’S DOWN ⬇️:
The Metaverse isn’t just for techies and crypto bros; it’s for everyone. See you there!

WHAT’S NEXT ➡️:

D
Disruption
Karlie Kloss has partnered with the wildly popular online gaming platform Roblox and a team of game designers to create five pop-up shops that ran from July 12 through July 25. Kloss used the Metaverse to provide up and coming designers exposure before they hit the real world.
I
Innovation
From a marketing and cultural perspective, the Metaverse blurs the lines between physical and digital allows companies to cater to specific audiences and deliver personalized consumer interactions. It’s also a key way to engage the hard-to-reach Gen Z. For us at Decode_M, it is a new way to attract clients and team members.
P
Polarization
You know how the internet is great, but also terrible? The Metaverse will have that same problem. Every interaction is loaded with privacy concerns, from tracking behavior within the metaverse to our real-world reactions (like eye-tracking technology in VR headsets). As if the crime wasn’t enough!
S
Stickiness
Metaverse platforms are hosting concerts, featuring talent as high-profile as Justin Bieber, Snoop, and Ariana Grande. Admittedly, some of them have gotten off to a rough start, with users complaining the VR tech has a long way to go.
S
Social Impact
The aspiration is that society can be redefined from the ground up. So fundamentally implementing equity for all groups from the start. People are claiming space in the Metaverse and working to build equality from the start.
